Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information NarrativAI (operated by OperaHouse Ventures) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. NarrativAI is a Progressive Web App for adult (18+) creative writers.

• Account information: email address, password (hashed), and date of birth used solely for the age-verification check (we do not collect government ID).
• Your Content: original characters, lore entries, and story text you save in the OC Vault and lore bible.
• Generation activity: prompts and accepted generations, used to maintain a per-story Style Profile (tone, pacing, genre signals) so Muse's suggestions stay consistent with your story.
• Payment information: billing for paid access is handled entirely by Stripe; we do not store your full card details ourselves.
• Transactional email: we use Resend to deliver password-reset emails.
• Device/IP information: used narrowly for age-verification circumvention rate-limiting (cooldowns after repeated failed attempts) and Trust & Safety enforcement (e.g., IP-based blocks reviewed case-by-case).

• To provide and personalize the Service (generation, Style Profile, Reading/Write/Build modes).
• To operate billing (Stripe).
• To detect and enforce Trust & Safety and Content Guardrail violations, including automated safety classification of every Muse-generated output before it reaches you.
• To send password-reset emails (Resend).
• To comply with legal obligations.

Muse's writing and character dialogue are generated by large language models hosted by third-party inference providers. We route generation requests through OpenRouter, a pay-per-request AI routing service that dispatches requests to underlying model providers on our behalf — currently Google's Gemini for prose, with the dialogue model selected dynamically based on routing signals and subject to change. If OpenRouter is unavailable, requests fall back to Together AI.

Claude Sonnet 5 (Anthropic) is used only for internal operations — specifically, safety classification of every Muse-generated output. It is not a public-facing chat product.

We are not enrolled in any tier of these services that permits use of your prompts or original-character data for training of publicly released models. If a provider materially changes its data-handling terms, we will update this Policy and give notice before continuing to route through them.

We share limited data with the following service providers, solely to operate the Service: OpenRouter (AI routing for Muse writing and character dialogue generation), Together AI (outage-time fallback for Muse writing and dialogue generation), Anthropic (Claude Sonnet 5 for safety classification of generated output), Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional password-reset email), and Mixpanel (product usage analytics — see below). The specific downstream model provider OpenRouter routes to on our behalf may change from time to time. We do not sell your personal information.

Mixpanel also records session replays (mouse movement, clicks, and navigation) for a portion of sessions, to help us understand and improve the writing experience. All text and input content in a replay — including story text, original-character details, and any other Content you write — is masked by default before it leaves your browser; replays show interface structure and navigation flow only, never the words you've written.

Every Muse-generated output passes through an automated safety classification step (Claude Sonnet 5) before it reaches you. Content that fails classification is blocked from the writing surface.

Your account and Content are retained while your account is active. If you wish to delete your account, contact us at privacy@operahouse.cc; we will process the request and remove your account and Content from our systems.

• Deletion: Send a deletion request to privacy@operahouse.cc.
• Access: You can view all of Your Content directly within the Service at any time.

NarrativAI is restricted to users 18 and older. We block access immediately if age verification indicates the user is under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

We are a Delaware, U.S.-domiciled company, and our infrastructure, sub-processors, and support operations are located in the United States. If you access NarrativAI from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have data-protection laws that differ from those of your home jurisdiction. By using the Service from outside the United States, you consent to this transfer. If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that requires additional safeguards for cross-border transfers, you may contact us at privacy@operahouse.cc for information about the safeguards that apply to your data.

API keys for our AI and infrastructure providers are stored server-side only (never exposed client-side). We do not claim any system is completely secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to you before they take effect.
