Terms of Service

By creating an account or otherwise using NarrativAI, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Acceptance occurs via an affirmative "I Agree" action (clickwrap) at account creation — not a passive footer link — consistent with the enforceability standard current U.S. case law favors.

• NarrativAI is restricted to users who are 18 years of age or older.
• You must complete a date-of-birth verification step during onboarding. If the calculated age is under 18, access is immediately blocked. We do not collect government ID or other sensitive identity documents for this check.
• Repeated failed age-verification attempts from the same device or IP are subject to a temporary cooldown before another attempt is allowed.

• You may explore a temporary, unauthenticated session (choosing a universe name, first original character, and tone tags) before creating an account; an email and password are required to save your universe.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

Accounts verified as 18+ must complete a mandatory consent modal explicitly opting in to mature themes before any content is generated.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-commercial license to use text and dialogue generated through NarrativAI ("Generated Content") for your own reading and private use. We do not warrant that Generated Content is copyrightable or free of third-party rights.

You retain your rights in the original characters, lore, and other creative material you input into NarrativAI ("Your Content"). You are responsible for ensuring Your Content does not infringe any third party's rights.

You may not compile, package, or publish Generated Content as a complete book, novel, or standalone commercial work — on any platform (e.g., Amazon KDP, Wattpad Paid Stories, Patreon) — for monetary gain, without a separate, explicit commercial license from OperaHouse Ventures. This applies regardless of light editing, unless your human revision is substantial enough to constitute a materially new, independently authored work.

If you seek copyright registration for a work incorporating Generated Content, you must disclose and disclaim the AI-generated portions per U.S. Copyright Office guidance (Copyright and Artificial Intelligence, Part 2, Jan. 2025). We do not indemnify you for a failure to make this disclosure. Under current law (see Thaler v. Perlmutter, cert. denied Mar. 2, 2026), purely machine-generated text is not independently copyrightable, and we make no claim that it is.

Violations of Sections 7–8 may result in account restriction, suspension, or termination. Egregious cases (e.g., a fully AI-generated manuscript sold at scale) may be referred for legal action.

Consensual mature themes between fictional characters are permitted. You may not use NarrativAI to generate or attempt to generate illegal content, real-world violence, hate speech, or child sexual abuse material (CSAM). All Muse-generated output is automatically screened by an independent safety classifier (Claude Sonnet 5) before it reaches you; content that fails classification is blocked from the writing surface.

Paid access to NarrativAI is billed through Stripe, our sole payment processor. Current paid options include:

• 7-day Premium Pass: $2.99, one-time or recurring.
• 30-day Premium Pass: $5.99, one-time or recurring.
• Usage Credits: one-time 5,000-word top-up packs for Free-tier writers who reach the daily generation cap.
• Founding Member: $99 one-time, granting lifetime Premium access and a Founding Member badge, capped at 100 units total.

You can cancel any recurring Pass at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

We select AI inference providers whose published data-processing terms exclude your prompts and original-character data from training of their publicly released models. We do not enroll in any tier of these services that would permit such training. If a provider materially changes its data-handling terms, we will change providers or give notice before continuing to route through them.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing privacy@operahouse.cc.

We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, including confirmed Trust & Safety or Commercial Publishing Restriction violations.

NarrativAI and Generated Content are provided "as is." We do not warrant that Generated Content is accurate, original, or free of third-party rights. To the fullest extent permitted by law, OperaHouse Ventures' aggregate liability arising from your use of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim and (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, except to the extent a mandatory consumer-protection law of your home jurisdiction with a materially greater interest in the dispute displaces that choice.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to you, and continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
